Dr. Temple Grandin advocates for children with autism

Temple Grandin has been a long time advocate for individuals with autism. She is  a professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University and has acted as a consultant for handling livestock and animal equipment. She speaks out against labeling children according to their disability and she recognizes that parents get too caught up in worrying about their child rather than focusing on all the positive aspects of their abilities. She encourages people to help strengthen a child’s natural skills and abilities that she believes will pay of and allow them to function throughout adulthood. Claire Danes portrayed her fascinating life on screen in an Emmy Award winning HBO movie.
