Entity honors SNL's funniest women.

Kate McKinnon’s hilarious impersonation of Hillary Clinton on “Saturday Night Live” has vaulted her high up the list of the comedy show’s all-time great performers.

By making millions smile during this stormy election season, she’s adding to a rich tradition of funny women who have helped make SNL such an enduring success.

From the likes of Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin in the early days to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler more recently, the show has provided a platform for hugely talented women to show their comedy chops.

But who have been the most memorable female performers over the years? Here are ENTITY’s top five.

1 Tina Fey as Sarah “I can see Russia from my window” Palin.

Her take on the former vice presidential candidate was pitch perfect.

2 Maya Rudolph playing fashionista Donatella Versace.

Her temperamental and tipsy performance was unforgettable.

3 Kristen Wiig portraying Cinderella as a drunken, hot mess.

Her performance was the highlight of SNL’s Real Housewives of Disney parody.

4 Kate McKinnon nails the Hillary Clinton impression.

She emphasizes her ambition and delight at finally having the Presidency in sight.

5 Molly Shannon as the gloriously unhinged Mary Katherine Gallagher.

Her character spun off into the sadly underappreciated movie “Superstar.”
