Nikki Haley is currently serving as the 29th United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Haley was the first female Governor of South Carolina and the second Indian American to serve. Time magazine ranked her among the top 100 most influential people in 2016. She entered politics in 1998 as a member of the board of directors of the Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce, and in 2003 she was elected treasurer at the National Association of Women Business Owners.
