When iconic pop singer Kate Bush started trending over the last 24 hours, many fans on social media feared that meant she had died. But happily it’s news of a rare new album and video from the reclusive star that has people talking.

After expressing relief that she’s still with us after a year that has already claimed music veterans like David Bowie, Prince and Leonard Cohen, most posts turned to excitement over the new product from the influential British artist.

Ahead of Friday’s release of her first live album in 22 years, “Before the Dawn,” the singer-songwriter has unveiled a new music video. In the video for the accompanying single, “And Dream of Sheep,” she is in the ocean wearing a life jacket and sings until she submerges into the water.

Also getting fans excited is her first interview in six years, an hour-long chat on BBC Radio 6 Music in which the “Wuthering Heights” and “Hounds of Love” singer looked back on her career and looked forward to future projects, saying, “I don’t know what I’m going to do next. Definitely do something. I want to just do something new.”

The new album is a recording of highlights from her 2014 London shows, which marked her first live performances in 35 years.

Bush has been a huge influence on other pops stars, and includes Boy George and Donny Osmond among her biggest fans, but she has not had a number one album in 30 years. Can “Before the Dawn” change that when it is released Nov. 25?
