Everything about ENTITY Academy writing internship

The ENTITY Academy Writing Internship has helped me in multiple ways, some of which I never realized I needed help on. Thanks to this mentorship experience I know exactly what I want to do with my career, I’m more confident in my work and I have realized my worth.  Honestly, I don’t believe I could’ve learned those things about myself had I not been apart of the experience.

Technical, hard skills are important but these were softer, broader skills that I can carry into a lot of areas of life.

1. Narrowing Down Career Ideas

The ENTITY Academy writing internship and new friendship

Throughout the program at ENTITY, I did a lot of hands-on work in journalism writing daily articles. Doing this helped me shape my writing skills, due to the fact that I was given an awesome mentor that met with me multiple times per week with feedback. Although I am thankful for the specific skills I learned, this program helped me narrow down the idea of what I would like to do with my career. Prior to coming here my career goals were all over the place.

2. Confidence

what I learned from the ENTITY Academy writing internship

There is nothing better than leaving with more confidence than you arrived with. The ENTITY Academy Writing Internship has definitely helped me in finding my voice by teaching me better communication skills.

Coming here alone was a huge step for me as I only had God and myself to rely on. I was forced to ask questions for myself and not care about what others thought. Sometimes coming into an unfamiliar place is the best solution for a person that’s as timid as I once was. I’ve learned that communication is a two-way street and the only way to successfully achieve it is to ask as many questions as you need. Since I got a full understanding of what I wanted to know, I gained more confidence.

3. Realizing My Worth

Yes, as cliche as it may sound I’ve found my voice. After that, I also found my worth and realized that my value shouldn’t go unnoticed. The only way to ensure that didn’t happen was to speak up for myself.

This program’s mentorship was truly amazing and was the perfect start to my career. I’m going to walk into my next job with a strong foundation.
